Privacy Policy

How TheTradingExpert handles personal data for visitors, newsletter subscribers and community members.

01

Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this site is Dennis Klahn, Theresenstraße 36, 28203 Bremen, Germany. For any privacy question or request, contact info@thetradingexpert.com.

02

What data we process

We process the data you actively provide — such as your email address (and optional name) when you request a checklist or subscribe to updates, or the content of any email you send us — and limited technical data your browser transmits automatically (such as IP address, date and time of the request, browser and device information) that is required to deliver and secure the website.

03

Hosting (Vercel)

This website is hosted on Vercel, operated by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel processes connection and server-log data (including your IP address) on our behalf as a processor to deliver and secure the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). As Vercel is based in the USA, data may be transferred there; such transfers are intended to be covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. A data-processing agreement is in place with the hosting provider.

04

Fonts

All web fonts used on this site are hosted on our own servers and delivered together with the rest of the page. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other external font service, and no font request transmits your IP address to a third party. The fonts are embedded at build time and set no cookies.

05

Newsletter and checklist downloads

If you submit your email (and optional name) to receive a checklist or updates, we use it only to send the requested material and related platform updates, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Signup uses a double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email, after which we stop sending and remove your address. Delivery is handled through an email service provider configured for this purpose; if the email backend is not configured, the form tells you so honestly and no address is stored.

06

Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your message and email address to handle your request, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or as required by law.

07

Affiliate and partner links

Some outbound links are affiliate or partner links. If — and only if — you have consented to statistics cookies, we record an anonymous click event in Google Analytics containing the partner identifier, a placement label, the page path and the destination domain; we do not build user profiles and do not run any separate click-tracking of our own. When you follow such a link, the destination site sets its own cookies and processes your data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

08

Cookies and consent

We distinguish two categories. Strictly necessary storage is required to deliver and secure the website and to remember your cookie choice itself; it sets no tracking or marketing cookies and cannot be switched off. Statistics storage covers Google Analytics 4 and is optional. When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept all categories, allow only what is strictly necessary, or make an individual selection. Nothing optional is loaded until you actively agree, and your decision is stored in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked again. You can change or withdraw your decision at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

09

Google Analytics 4

With your consent to statistics cookies we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), measurement ID G-Z51S8XZ2FL. We use it to understand how the website is used — which pages and tools are helpful and where visitors struggle — so we can improve the platform. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for the storage of and access to information on your device, § 25(1) TDDDG). The Google Analytics script is only loaded after you consent: before that no request is made to Google servers and no _ga cookie is set. If you decline, Analytics is never loaded. Analytics stores cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and processes a pseudonymous identifier together with technical data such as your truncated IP address, device and browser information, referrer and the pages you visit. IP anonymisation is enabled, and Google Signals and advertising personalisation are switched off, so we do not use Analytics data for advertising. Data may be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA; such transfers are intended to be covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Google’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google processes this data on our behalf under a data-processing agreement, and additionally for its own purposes under its own privacy policy.

10

What we measure — and what we never send

Alongside page views we record a small number of anonymous interaction events: a successful newsletter or checklist signup, a click on an outbound partner or affiliate link, a click on an Aurion link, a click on a contact link, and the actual use of one of our calculators. These events carry only technical context — for example the page path, a placement label, the partner identifier or the calculator name. We never transmit form contents to Analytics: no email addresses, no names, no phone numbers, no free text, no account data and no figures you enter into a calculator. Page paths are sent without query parameters, and for outbound links only the destination domain is recorded, not the full link. The only exception is campaign attribution: if you reach the site through a marketing link, the six standard campaign parameters (utm_id, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content) are read from the landing address so we can see which campaign brought you here. Every other query parameter is discarded, and a campaign value that looks like an address, an identifier or a token is discarded as well. This too happens only after you consent to statistics cookies.

11

Withdrawing your analytics consent

Open “Cookie settings” in the footer and switch statistics off, or choose only what is strictly necessary. From that moment no further Analytics events are sent, Analytics is disabled for the current session, and we delete the Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*, _gid and _gat*) that we can reach from this site. No other cookies are affected. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. You can also prevent Google Analytics using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.

12

Community / Discord

The community is not active yet. If a Discord link is offered in future, visiting Discord is subject to Discord’s own privacy policy and processing; we do not transmit your data to Discord unless you choose to follow such a link.

13

Legal bases

We rely on: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for the technically necessary provision and security of the website; consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and § 25(1) TDDDG for storage on your device) for the newsletter and for optional statistics cookies / Google Analytics 4; contract / pre-contract and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)) for handling enquiries; and legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)) where applicable.

14

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and — where processing is based on consent — to withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@thetradingexpert.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.

15

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected — for example, newsletter data until you unsubscribe — or as required by law, after which it is deleted.
